About Domesta

Domesta is a marketplace where households and domestic helpers find each other and deal with each other directly. A household browses profiles, contacts a helper, and agrees terms with that helper. Nobody negotiates in between.

What Domesta is not, on purpose

Domesta is not a recruitment agency, an employer, or a sponsor, and it operates as a platform rather than as a licensed recruiter in each market it serves. That is a design decision, not a gap. Anyone who places people takes a fee for placing them, and has an interest in who you hire.

The helper keeps their whole salary, and being listed is free for them. Households pay for access to contact details, and that is the only money Domesta handles.

What Domesta does do

Every helper is reviewed before being listed, which confirms the work they offer is one of the roles Domesta covers. A helper who provides an identity document that Domesta approves carries an ID badge on their profile. Domesta publishes what each role actually pays in each market, drawn from the profiles listed there.

Domesta does not carry out background or criminal checks, and does not provide visas, employment contracts, or legal services.

Where Domesta operates

Domesta serves households in Bahrain. 1,068 helpers and 467 households are on the platform today.
