Helpers in Bahrain

How much does it cost to recruit a housemaid in Bahrain?

Overseas recruitment fees are set by licensed recruitment offices, vary by office and nationality, and do not include the helper's salary. Domesta is not a recruitment office and does not bring anyone from abroad. The helpers on Domesta already live in Bahrain and write their own profiles; you read the profiles, contact the ones you choose directly, and agree the terms between you.

What you pay Domesta is a subscription that unlocks contact details, not a fee on the hire itself: every new household starts on the free plan, which reveals contact details for 3 helpers for 72 hours, and the paid plans are listed with their prices on the pricing page. A plan is a one-time purchase and does not renew on its own. The salary is agreed between you and the helper.

What are the entry conditions for domestic workers coming to Bahrain?

Entry conditions and work permits for domestic workers are set by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), which is the only official source for them. Domesta does not issue visas or permits and does not act as an intermediary for them.

The difference with Domesta is that the helpers on the platform are already in Bahrain, so your hire does not go through overseas recruitment. Any step concerning a work permit or its transfer is between you and the helper, under the Authority's rules.

Which offices are licensed to recruit domestic workers?

The list of licensed recruitment offices is published by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, which licenses them. Domesta is not a recruitment office or an agency, so you will not find it on that list.

Domesta is an online marketplace: helpers living in Bahrain create their own profiles, and households search, compare and contact them directly. If what you need is recruitment from abroad, a licensed office is the route; if you are looking for someone who is in Bahrain now, that is what you find on Domesta.

How much does a Filipina housemaid cost to recruit?

The cost of recruiting from the Philippines is set by recruitment offices and is also subject to the requirements of the Philippine authorities; it does not include the monthly salary. Domesta does not recruit from the Philippines or anywhere else.

On Domesta you find Filipina helpers already living in Bahrain who wrote their own profiles; each profile states experience, languages and the expected salary the helper set herself. You read the profiles, contact the ones you choose, and agree the salary and terms between you. The "Bahrain housemaid salary insights" page shows the averages of what helpers state on the platform.

Is Domesta a recruitment agency?

No. Domesta is an online marketplace where households meet helpers who live in Bahrain. The helper writes their own profile, the household reads, compares and contacts them directly, and the two agree the terms between them. Domesta does not employ, recruit, sponsor, or guarantee a job or a helper.

How do I contact a helper on Domesta?

Create an account, then search and compare profiles. Every new household starts on a free plan that reveals contact details for 3 helpers for 72 hours; the paid plans reveal more, for longer. When you choose a helper, their contact details are shown and you message or call them directly. Or post a job instead, and helpers apply to you with their contact details.

Are the helpers on Domesta verified?

Helpers may undergo verification checks such as ID upload, and you can filter by "Verified ID" or "Has references". Evaluating, interviewing and checking a helper's references is still the household's responsibility; Domesta does not guarantee anyone.

What happens after I agree with a helper?

Salary, start date and duties are agreed between you and the helper directly. Anything to do with the work permit and its transfer follows the Labour Market Regulatory Authority's rules, and Domesta is not a party to it. You can close your job post the moment you have hired.
